The second Miami camp will be at American Heritage
No 6th grade top performers outta B town?
We only spotlight a select number of players from each camp, not always representeative from each grade level.
When will top performers from albany be posted
No top performers from Albany?
Albany and Tallahassee top performers should be posted Monday evening.
like will they be picked the top performers
WHERE IS THE JACKSONVILLE SITE GOING TO BE NAME
Do all top performers get picked?
No particularly. We just highlight kids from each camp.
So do most of the top performers get picked to play
We highlight kids from each camp. Those are kids that stood out at that location.
WHERES THE ORLANDO RESULTS AND TOP PERFORMERS
I’m sure this concern will fall on def ears as most scouting/development recruiting orgs.. follow similar criteria. However, middle school scouting over sells lots of it’s standout talent… (Because)… standouts are usually older & thereby more physically developed than their counterparts. (not all cases but, more often than not) When a 13yr. old 8th grader is competing with a 15yr. old 8th grader it usually looks exactly that way. So grouping middle school prospects by grade rather than age potentially perpetuates false narrative. I am aware of the many viewpoint opinions on the subject but, “fact” is truer comparison doesn’t actually occur until kids collectively are 16-18yrs. Consequently a lot of talent goes under developed & properly scouted!
Interested in your feedback
Thx, Devin (D-DAWG!)
To participate in the Future Stars Game, you must be eligible to compete in middle school athletics and must be on pace to be eligible to participate in sports your senior year of high school. In saying that, all kids must be eligible to participate in the Future Stars Game and meet the age requirements that are laid out on the website on the “Teams” page.
Thx for speedy response… Good to know that your org. is on top of the issue. However, your D.O.B requirements state: 09/01/99 (6th), 09/01/98 (7th), 09/01/97 (8th). I certainly don’t mean to single out your org. in this regard because most orgs. operate similarly; I’m just stating info that is generally known in our sport & as a recruiter/coach/developer myself… I see how this “old” practice compromises potential… In ’86 my middle school team had at least four 15yr. old kids & two 16yrs… is what it is… change not likely!
Yes, the age requirements are based on high school eligibility age requirements. So, as long as they are born after that date, they would be eligible with their current class during their senior season. And being that this is a statewide tryouts and kids are trying out from all over the state, the competition and talent level is not what many are used to seeing. There are very few we have seen that are on the older end of the age chart, but the best we have seen are not particularly in that category. But, that is a situation that kids that have skipped a grade must overcome, as a 19 year old senior will still be more physically developed than a 17 year old senior.
I am well versed on the “language” that is used to protect interests in these cases. As I asserted in my original statement; this concern will fall on def ears. Generally, the aspect of puberty disqualifies realistic comparison between middle & high school. (Football people are well aware of this issue) Year after year we encounter kids that hit late growth & in many cases physically develop better than their older counterparts that peak or level to competition by junior year. Fact of the matter is the perpetuation of this “old” practice compromises the scouting/development process which should begin at “age specific” middle school level. Again, not a dig at your org. as I am aware that the same basic methods are utilized around the U.S. as rule. However, seeing as your org. is newer on the scene… I took opportunity to voice an issue that is sorely underserved.
I must mention, that the concept of future stars is awesome idea… coaches appear to know their stuff & are of high character…
Keep it up… Good luck!
I would like to see a full pads future stars combine. I don’t think that seeing how fast a kid is and how good he runs routes or covers routes makes him a future star. I have seen many speedy or athletic kids look awesome on the field without pads, but when the pads are on they shy away from contact and are no longer future star material. Just a thought, i know it’s hard to evaluate players either way in such a short amount of time. Keep up the good work, these kids need more people like yall in they’re life.
It would be nice to have a lot of things to help improve the evaluation process. But, note that the combine results have absolutely no bearing on team selection. We dont even look at the combine results during the selection process. With only 1 in 3 6th graders and about 1 in 4 7th and 8th graders making the team this year, it makes the evaluation process fun and extremely difficult.
If the combine doesn’t help decision making in the team… can I ask why you do it and How you choose????
The combine is not used as a factor to determine the team. The kids are chosen based on their performance in the position drills.
When do Orlando results come out?
if you get top preformer are you most likely to make the team
That means you had one of the better performances at that camp. But for instance, if we have a 7th grade QB that gets a top performer mention at every camp, we obviously can not carry 6 QBs.
HOW MANY PLAYERS WILL BE SELECTED FROM EACH CITY THAT WILL MAKE THA TEAMOR DO YOU HAVE TO SELECT A CERTAIN NUMBER FOR EACH POSITION.IT SEEMS LIKE A HARD PROCESS TO MAKE .DO THE COACHES GET TOGETHER AND MAKE THE DECISION TOGETHER.
There will be a 45 player roster for each team. The evaluators will get together after all camps and select the roster. The 45 man roster will be a two deep on both sides of the ball and a special teams player.
What’s going on with the Florida camps? Two weeks in a row no results from the sunshine state.
The results from Fort Myers and Miami were posted on the results page yesterday.
Love what Future Stars got going on……..Yall have my son so focus and determine its at the point where he want to practice everyday trying to elevate his talent to da next level…….
In the end, whether kids make the team or not, we want them all to have learned something and gotten better from the experience.
Are you guys taking some kids from each camp or will their be some camps that dont have anyone chosen
We will take the best 45 from all camps regardless of where they tried out.
I have a question who picks the team Mr. valister or a others because at are camp I only saw him so how would anyone else be able to know what we had at are camp if only one person from future stars was there? If you don’t use the results how does a coach who wasn’t at a camp select people he didn’t see perform?
Each camp has coaches that run the drills that evaluate and select the players. The coaches conducting the drills rank the players in their position group at each camp and those rankings are used to select the team. So, whatever camp you attended, those coaches are the ones nominating kids.

Leo, I apologize. We are hoping to get those typed up and to us today.
My son tried out and knows Thomas Willis which is in seventh grade and he made the sixth grade team
Thanks, that was an error and has been corrected.
Who was added to the team to replace Thomas
How many linbackers are supposed to be on the team? There are only 5
There is no concrete number of players at each position. Generally there is a two deep at each position, but that could be a player more or less in come cases.
